Hand & dummy types

When dummy comes down, a good declarer will have one or two ideas for the hand straight away. These ideas are based on the type of dummy and the opportunities available. This is pattern recognition that takes seconds — it isn't a deep-thinking skill. It's the basis for more detailed planning and calculation.
